Blogging questions

Bear with me, I'm new here to blogger. I have all my blogs at wordpress, and honestly I'm not very good at this website stuff. I like how easy blogger is to use, the templates, changing fonts, etc. That's what upset me about wordpress, I have to know how to edit CSS to change the color of my fonts or links. I don't like how monotone everything is at www.purlingoverthepast.com that's why I haven't officially launched it yet. It's not the way I want it. I just want to knit, I don't want to learn CSS! And I know enough HTML to get me by! Not to mention i am doing this all from my iphone (and the wordpress app has deleted or changed my posts more than once without my permission!) Has anyone used both sites and prefer one over the other? If so, why? Does anyone have any suggestions about my frustrations? I'd love to hear some feedback!

Oh and another thing, how do I bring my old posts from my wordpress blog here? I don't want to start fresh, and I don't want to loose those posts. I'm all about being organized and I don't want two of the same blogs floating around. I'd rather combine them. Any suggestions?

  1. My first suggestion is not to move away from WordPress but just make it work better for you. Because it's very robust and flexible, WordPress is favored by many (most?) serious bloggers. Here's a plugin that would solve your problem: http://www.deanlee.cn/wordpress/fckeditor-for-wordpress-plugin/

If you must, here's a post on how to move your stuff and the limitations of doing so:

  2. Ben, I knew if anyone would have sound advice that made sense, that it would be you! Thank you, I'm going to try to work with wordpress. I don't understand the whole "plug in" stuff but I'll give it a go! =)
